COMMUNITY SUPPORT AND EVENT MANAGEMENT OFFICER
CoderDojo Belgium is a non-profit association that organizes free sessions to teach children and young people aged 7 to 18 how to program. The sessions take place in Dojos.
The Dojos are set up and run by volunteer Coaches and Cooks. This is to introduce children and youth to new technologies and thus develop their knowledge.More info can be found on our site: https://www.coderdojobelgium.be
Community support and event management officer
We are currently looking for a Community support and event management officer to assist, strengthen and further develop the activities of the association in Flanders.
This is a two-hats mission. On one side, you are to provide support in the development of the CoderDojo community (volunteers, parents, partners) in Flanders. In addition, you are also responsible for event organization. For this you will work together with volunteers, the team of CoderDojo Belgium, and the CoderDojo Foundation (Ireland).
Job Description
· Provide community support:
o Identify means and participate actively in new volunteers recruitment and participation, responsible for onboarding new volunteers and providing them a warm welcome in the community.
o Facilitate best practice sharing, knowledge exchange, as well as the networking within the community.
o Monitor and respond to inquiries from community members and external parties.
o Provide operational support to the community, keep asset management up to date and follow up dojos' budget (cafeteria plan).
o Organize volunteers’ training.
o Set, implement, and monitor the campaigns and the promotion of our actions on different social networks to ensure better visibility of the project .
o Establish and execute a schedule of press releases reporting the latest successes and events.
o Conduct surveys, gather feedback from volunteers, and participants.
· Manage events to build and strengthen community:
o Organize events in collaboration with the internal team.
o Organize events logistics (location, technology, invitations, reminders…)
o Organize check in process on event day.
o Promote events and recruit targeted audiences.
o Involve and engage the community in organization and participation.
o Monitor and control event budget.
o Conduct surveys, gather feedback from volunteers, and participants.
o Report on event attendance.
· Reporting
o plan, organize, and monitor the newsletters and yearly report redaction.
o provide input to management for subsidy reports.
· Identify and seize opportunities to improve the way we manage the administration, the community and the communication activities.
Profile

· You have excellent communication skills across all typical communication channels.
· You speak and write fluently in Dutch and English. Knowledge of French is a plus.
· Experience with an Agile Way of Working (Scrum) and creative skills (graphic design) are a plus.
· Background in or experience with IT is a plus (i.e scratch, micro:bit…)
