About CoderDojo Belgium
CoderDojo Belgium is a non-profit organizing free sessions, Dojo’s, to learn kids and youngsters from age 7 to 18 how to code. Our Dojo’s are organized by volunteers. The purpose is to introduce the participants to new technologies and expand their knowledge. More info on our website: https://www.coderdojobelgium.be
We are a small team to support the local Dojo’s, hosts events, and works on projects to introduce more kids to new technologies. Our office is located in Mechelen. We work from there on Monday and Tuesday. The other days are open to work at the office or from home. To expand our team we are looking for several profiles.
Community Lead
We are looking for a full-time Community Lead for Flanders. You will work closely together with the Community Lead for Wallonia. You need to be fluent in Dutch and English.
As Community Lead you are responsible for all communication with the local Dojo’s. This communication is with volunteers, partners and parents. You help in the search for participants, locations, technical support or the setup of a new Dojo.
You visit the Dojo’s on a regular base. Dojo’s mostly take place during the weekend and some of them also in the evening during weekdays.
As Community Lead you are the face for our community. You are responsible for creating a nice environment where coaches can focus on the mentoring of the participants instead of administrative tasks.
Together with the daily team you are responsible for tasks like administration, stock managements, logistics and meetings. You support our CoderDojo4All team, a project specifically for Dojo’s focusing on girls, kids living in poverty or kids that are in the hospital for longer periods.
You assist in writing fundings and taking care of the fundings when they are approved. You also are active in the search for sponsors and partners.
You will follow up and attend our events together with our Event Manager.
You are assisted in these tasks by our Community Support Assistant.
CoderDojo4All
With CoderDojo4All we want to avoid digital exclusion for vulnerable kids (living in poverty, hospitalized for a longer period of time, ..) by providing free coding and robotics workshops at places they already know or make them find the way to the regular Dojo’s. Therefore we are looking for a Dutch speaking assistant (part-time contract). You work closely together with the Project Coordinator and must be fluent in English.
Your responsibility is to create more partnerships with organizations that serve a social goal and expand our network. You have a special interest in this project and an awareness of digital exclusion. You make sure that we will have more Dojo’s for this group of kids or make them find the way to our regular Dojo’s. You do this by supporting the organizations that already know the kids and make sure they can maintain the Dojo’s in an independent way. Together with our Event Manager you make sure that our CoderDojo4All events are a success.
You will work together with our volunteers to help at workshops and events.
You will take care of the budget management for this specific project.
What do we have to offer?
You will work for a passionate, ambitious project.
You will work in an environment with a lot of social contacts.
